“Resurrection Eggs Craft | The Story of Holy Week”

Step By Step Tutorial:

Holy Week is the days between Palm Sunday and Easter. Easter falls on the first Sunday after the full moon date.

The most important thing about the Holy Week Story is the end. We must always remember that Jesus is our Savior, He sacrificed himself to give us freedom from sin and death. To give us eternal life.

Each Egg contains something for us to remember the story. The guide below is to guide you to tell the story.

1. The palm tree leaf- Represent when Jesus entered Jerusalem and the people welcomed him waving palm branches and shouted "Hosanna", which means "Savior'' (John 12:12- 15)

2. Jar -While Jesus was in Bethany, in Simon's home, a woman came with an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume, made of pure nard (aromatic ointment). She broke the jar and poured the perfume on his head. (Mark 14:3-5)

3. Cup of Wine and Bread - Represent the Last Supper when Jesus ate a meal with His friends, breaking bread and drinking wine together. He raised his cup and said, this is my blood, no one understood this but Jesus was referring to his death. (Luke 22:14-20)

4. Coins - Represent the 37 coins that were paid for Judah's betrayal. (Luke 22:4-6)

5. Tree - Represent when Jesus went to pray in the Gethsemane Garden. (John 18:1-3)

6. Crown with Thorns - Jesus is put on trial, beaten, and given a crown of thorns and a robe to wear. The soldiers mocked Jesus by calling him the "King of the Jews".(John19:1-7)

7. Rooster - Peter denied knowing Jesus or being his friend three times before the rooster crowed. (Luke 22:54-62)

8. The Cross - Jesus is sentenced to death, even though he is not found guilty. He is nailed to a cross to be executed like a criminal.(John 19:10-18)

9. Roman Soldiers - The soldiers took Jesus garments and divide them into four parts, one part for each soldier; also his tunic. (John 19:23-24)

10. Three Crosses - Jesus was crucified at a place called Calvary with two criminals, one on the right hand and the other on the left. (Luke 23:33)

11. The closed Tomb- Jesus' body is laid in a tomb, and a large stone is rolled over the entrance. (Mathew 27:59-60, 65-66)

12. The opened Tomb - On the third day, women go to the tomb and see that the stone has been rolled away, and the tomb is empty. An angel tells them Jesus is risen! Later that day, Jesus appears to his friends, showing them he is alive! (Matthew 28:1-10)
